Not only has the No-Confidence Motion against Imran Khan led to the resignation of the sitting government, but it also will have an impact on almost all public departments. There are likely to be some high-profile changes to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), despite its unanimous nature.
According to sources, Ramiz Raja is likely to be replaced by former chairman, Najam Sethi, who is also the Patron-In-Chief of the PCB.
Once PML-N leader, Shehbaz Sharif comes into power as the next Prime Minister, a number of directors, as well as the Chairman, are likely to lose their seats.
The frontrunner for the post is Najam Sethi, a previous PCB Chairman who has served on three occasions. However, whether Ramiz Raja is removed by the coming government or resigns himself remains to be seen. Najam Sethi will likely get the role if the new premier nominates him for the position.
In conjunction with PCB CEO Faisal Hasnain, Ramiz Raja is at an important ICC Board meeting in Dubai to propose a four-nation SuperSeries involving India, Australia, and England on an annual basis with revenues to be shared by the involved boards.
