Pakistan emerged victorious against India on Sunday in the 21st Asian Junior Team Squash Championship, which was held at the Indian Squash and Triathlon Academy located in Chennai.
The first match of the final was between Noor Zaman from Pakistan and Krishna Mishra from India, and it was a closely contested battle that lasted for four games.
The first game was a tight match between Noor Zaman and Krishna Mishra, with Noor ultimately coming out on top with a score of 12-10.
Krishna then won the second game with a score of 11-9. Noor went on to secure a commanding lead for Pakistan by winning the third game 3-1.
The next match saw Pakistan’s star squash player, Hamza Khan, who is a two-time Asian Junior champion and a British Junior champion, face off against Paarth Ambani. Hamza dominated the match, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Paarth.
Taking to Twitter the Pakistan Squash Federation said, “Congratulations Pakistan. Well done Team Pakistan we are proud of you. Pakistan is once again Asian champion and beat India in the final of Asian Junior Squash Team Championship 2023 Chennai (India). Pakistan beat India 2/0.”
Before reaching the final, Pakistan defeated Malaysia in the semi-finals while India emerged victorious against Korea to secure their place in the championship match.
