Special Technology Zones are being developed to help IT professionals: PM Imran Khan

During the 4th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Special Technology Zones Authority in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that technology zones are being developed in major cities to help IT professionals.

In place of the NOC Regime, the Compliance Regime has been implemented for this purpose.

As stated further, the government’s primary objective in the IT sector is to create a large number of jobs for the country’s tech-savvy youth.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stated that youth make up around 68 percent of our population, and that the IT sector has the capacity to employ them actively for socioeconomic upliftment.

However, the Board of Governors had previously approved declaring various technology and innovation clusters in Islamabad as Special Technology Zones in order to create an enabling environment for the IT sector to take advantage of existing infrastructure to grow tech companies and freelancers.

The Prime Minister has also urged the relevant authorities to take all necessary steps to create a tech-friendly ecosystem in the country.
