Naila Kiani makes history by becoming the second Pakistani woman to climb Everest in 2023

Naila Kiani is an extraordinary woman of substance who needs no introduction. She is an all-in-one lady who has accomplished many milestones during the last few years that many people can only imagine. She is a high-altitude mountaineer and the first Pakistani woman to climb six peaks above 8,000 metres.

During the last two years, Kiani ascended the 8,035-metre-high Gasherbrum II — the world’s 13th-highest mountain in 2021. In 2022, Kiani became one of only two Pakistani women to climb the 8,611-metre-high K2, the 2nd highest mountain in the world. That same year, she climbed the peak of the 8,080-metre Gasherbrum I, which is the 11th-highest mountain in the world. In April 2023, Kiani became the first Pakistani woman to scale the world’s 10th highest mountain in Nepal, the Annapurna, which sits at 8,091 metres. If that wasn’t all, Kiani gained international recognition for becoming the second Pakistani woman to climb the 8,848-metre-high Mt. Everest this May. She didn’t stop there. Later this month, Kiani became the first Pakistani woman to successfully climb the 8,516-metre Mount Lhotse, regarded as the 4th highest peak in the world.

You’re wrong if you think that’s all there is to Kiani. She juggles many roles, including that of an engineer, a kickboxer, and a hands-on mother to her two children. She is an all-rounder woman who can do it all and embodies the spirit of a brand like Sensodyne. Kiani is truly an inspiration and the definition of a modern-day Pakistani woman, and Sensodyne is grateful to have been a part of her extraordinary journey.
