Asim Azhar, Shae Gill, and Faris Shafi will be featured in the official anthem for PSL 8

Abdullah Siddiqui, a young musician, has been selected to compose the official anthem for this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL). This will be the second time that Siddiqui composes the PSL anthem, having done so last year with Atif Aslam and Aima Baig.

Asim Azhar and Shae Gill will be singing this year’s anthem, while Faris Shafi is expected to add a rap element to the song.

The previously planned singer, Ali Sethi, was dropped due to a potential conflict of interest with his father serving as the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee. The anthem was originally supposed to be created by Pasoori’s creators, but the contract was revoked.

When I’m not here, we’ll bring in Ali Sethi to sing the anthem. You must comprehend my position. “I don’t want to be involved in any conflict of interest controversy,” he had stated.

Ali and Shae performed the song “Pasoori” in Coke Studio Season 14, which was very successful globally. The Pasoori team was hired by former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja to produce the official anthem. The previous year’s anthem, produced by Abdullah, received over 10 million views on YouTube.

PSL 8 will be held in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 13 to March 19.

For the first time, Multan will host the opening ceremony and first match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Multan Sultans will play against the defending champions, the Lahore Qalandars, in February.

On February 14th, Karachi will host its first match between the Karachi Kings and the Peshawar Zalmi. Karachi and Multan will host 14 matches in the initial phase, which will end on February 26th. Lahore will host its first match on the same day. Afterwards, the league will move to Lahore and Rawalpindi.

It is reported that Rawalpindi will host the majority of the 11 matches in this year’s PSL. The final match of the event will take place at the historic Gaddafi Stadium on March 19th.
