ISLAMABAD: The timings of the federal government offices have been revised for the holy month of Ramadan following the appointment of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a notification issued Tuesday, the Establishment Division announced the revised timings and that they will remain the same unless they are modified or withdrawn.
Days | Timings |
Monday to Thursdays and Saturday | 8am-3pm (Prayer break: 1-1:30pm) |
Friday | 8am-1pm |
Government offices will now remain open six days a week as a result of the newly elected premier abolishing two weekly offs. In addition, office opening hours will now be 8am instead of 7am.
Shehbaz’s surprise arrival early in the morning on his first day as PM sent officials of the PM Office into a panic as he awoke the office’s staff and officers who were still asleep.
Shehbaz, who is largely known for his punctuality, reached PM Office at 7am on his first day after assuming charge. The officers and other employees of the PM Office who had not reached by that time rushed to work to avoid the wrath of the newly elected PM.
