Khalil Ur Rehman regrets casting Mahira Khan in ‘Sadqay Tumhare’, says he committed a ‘sin’

Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar has an unfavorable opinion of renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.

On Instagram, she shared some clips from her drama series, Sadqay Tumhare, in which she played the role of Shanno, which was inspired by Khalil Ur Rehman’s real-life love story.

“Aaj sadqay yaaad aaaya,” she captioned the videos.

Sharing a screengrab of the post, the 59-year-old writer tweeted that he will always ‘curse’ on himself for casting Mahira.

He wrote, “I ll always curse on me for the sin I committed by casting her in a very sacred role in my Sadqay Tumhare.”

Explaining his ‘hatred’ for the actor, Khalil Ur Rehman re-shared an old tweet of Mahira where she bashed the writer for verbally abusing human rights activist Marvi Sirmed on national television in March 2020.

Khalil Ur Rehman tweeted, “Ye hai iss aurat ka wo tweet jo iss ne Marvi Sarmad k sath honay walay incident k aglay din kia tha (This is a tweet by Mahira which she posted after the Marvi Sirmed incident)”

He added that he lost all the respect for the actor after she dropped this tweet surrounding the controversy. 

Formerly, the writer called actor Adnan Malik a ‘transgender’ when he wrote derogatory comments about the biographical drama’s lead actor.
