Imam-ul-Haq breaks 37 year old Graham Gooch’s record in 3 ODIs against Australia

LAHORE: Pakistani opener, Imam-ul-Haq has set a world record by beating England player Graham Gooch’s 37-year-old record for scoring most runs in a series who scored 289 runs against Australia in 1985. Imam scored 298 runs to beat the score of Graham Gooch against Australia with similar number of matches.

Imam won this honor during Pakistan’s third and one day international against Australia here on Saturday night which the team won by 9 wickets and also sealed the three match series 2-1.

Although Pakistan lost their first ODI against Australia, Imam-ul-Haq was able to score 103 runs during the game.

In the second ODI, the opener played a beautiful knock as he scored 106 more runs and guided Pakistan, with Babar Azam, to their first ODI win of the series.

In the third and final ODI, Pakistan chased down a low target of Australia during which Imam-ul-Haq scored 89* runs and remained not out.

Pakistan was able to claim the ODI series against Australia by a score of 2-1, thanks to some outstanding performances by Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq.

Previously, Imam-ul-Haq also broke Hashim Amla’s record of scoring 9 centuries in the least amount of total games played.

Pakistan Cricket team is now set to finish off their historic series against Australia with a one-off T20I match.
