Quality healthcare is the fundamental right of every individual. However, challenges such as lack of access to primary healthcare plagues the 70% of Pakistan’s rural population. To bridge this gap, Xeven Solutions organized a free health camp in a far flung village in Bahawalpur where communities live below the poverty line and are deprived from access to basic medical services.
The “Xeven Gives Back” intitiative was undertaken to provide a communication channel for the village residents with qualified and licensed healthcare professionals through telemedicine.
Led by M. Irfan Malik, Founder and CEO of Xeven Solutions, the team went well prepared with not only their telemedicine solution, but care packages that were distributed to the families of that community.
“We were shocked to see people on the verge of death, due to a preventable illnesses, all because of inaccessibility and unaffordability” explained Malik.
“We were able to identify prevalent medical issues in the community such as diabetes, hypertension and hormonal disorders in females just with our initial screening through telemedicine and integrated point of care devices.”
With local healthcare workers and lady health visitors, the team’s global clinicians from the UK, US and UAE provided real-time video consultations through INNOVA, Xeven’s integrated telemedicine solution. They took over a hundred patient histories and guided them towards relevant treatments and referrals.
This is yet another milestone in Xeven’s contribution and responsibility towards equitable healthcare. Malik is proud and hopeful that outreach initiatives like this will make move the needle forward towards a healthier and safer Pakistan.
“We have started a journey to reach out to the underprivileged sections of society and help them using our extensive 15+ years experience and expertise in the health tech space.” says Malik.
Furthering community welfare and enriching lives has always been an integral part of Xeven Solutions’ vision.
