Shane Warne, cricket legend dead at the age 52 of a suspected heart attack

Shane Warne, 52, former Australian international cricketer, died of a heart attack in Thailand.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” according to a statement from Warne’s management.

“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

Following his retirement, Warne became a much loved pundit having taken 708 test wickets between 1992 and 2007. He starred for Australia cricket from 1992 to 2007 and is widely regarded as one of the best bowlers in the history of the game.

Warne made his Test debut for Australia in 1992 against India and played his last Test in 2007. 

A leg-spinner, he set a world record of 708 Test wickets which has only been broken by Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan.
