Indian Projectile enters in Pakistani airspace in Mian Channu: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Air Force on Thursday detected an Indian projectile in Mian Channu that entered 124km inside Pakistani airspace and violated international conventions.

Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, the Director-General of the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major Gen Babar Iftikhar said that Pakistan strongly condemned the Indian violation of its airspace.

“A flying object has been traced, starting in Sirsa in India before crashing in Mian Channu in Pakistan,” says ISPR DG. ‘Gross violations’ like this are strongly condemned by Pakistan.

“We detected the object on time and took necessary action as per the standard operating procedures (SOPs),” he said, adding that no casualties took place because of the incident.

“Some material damage was caused to a building because of the object and a crater was formed,” he said.

“The flight path endangered civilians in both Pakistan and India. India must explain what caused this; this reflects poorly on Indian aviation,” he said, adding that this could have resulted in a major aviation disaster.

Amid an increase in terrorism in the country, ISPR’s DG said that the country’s armed forces are taking prompt action to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemy.

“So far, we have killed 80 terrorists during the past few weeks,” he said.
