WATCH: Alia Bhatt dances in Gangubai Khathiawadi, Dholida
Every film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has breathtaking song and dancing scenes. In the upcoming Gangubai Kathiawadi, it is Dholida, released on Thursday. The song features Alia Bhatt aka Ganguabai dancing with all her heart.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has composed the music of the song with lyrics by Kumaar. Jahnvi Shrimankar and Shail Hada have sung the song with choreography by Kruti Mahesh.
The video shows Alia Bhatt’s wearing a white ensemble getting immersed in dancing, which ultimately begins involving others around her as she loses herself with her dance moves. The long spins at the end of the video are definitely the highlight of the song.
The trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi released earlier this month and showcased Alia playing an alpha female. The trailer also featured Ajay Devgn in a pivotal role. While this is Alia’s first collaboration with Bhansali, Ajay has previously worked with the director in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
Sharing the song, Alia Bhatt wrote in her Instagram post: “An absolute dream come true to dance on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s music. My heart forever beats to Dholida.”
Gangubai Kathiawadi is set during the 1960s and is based on one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Vijay Raaz, Jim Sarbh, among others and releases on February 25.
