Hyundai Staria MPV (Multi-purpose Vehicle) spotted at the pick-up point of Nishat Hotel, Johar branch. The uber-cool spaceship-styled van is 7 seater comfortable ride being used by the hotel for airport transfers. The official launch of Staria is expected in December, 2022.
In the past Hyundai-Nishat also tested the depth of the MPV market, by introducing Hyundai Grand Starix in 2019. Grand Starix was a competition of KIA’s Grand Carnival and was available in the market as CBU (Completely Built Unit). However, the competition took over the market share by leading the MPV market with Grand Carnival. KIA’s Grand Carnival and Hyundai’s Starix/Staria are in similar relations as Sportage and Tucsan respectively in their home market, South Korea. Yet, both the sister brands are competing in the local market to capitalize the share in the respective vehicle category.
Hyundai Staria Specification:
The Staria is up to 9-seater MPV, STARIA Smartstream Gasoline 3.5 MPI engine, 8 Speed Automatic gearbox. The car is FWD (Front Wheel Drive) with 3470cc displacement producing 268 horsepower and 331NM of torque.
With its futuristic lighting and swooping design, the Staria is very much a van that Hyundai wants you to look at. Unlike previous vans from the automaker, the Staria immediately draws eyes with its perforated, color-matched front grill and full-width LED running lights up the front. The exterior of the van is extremely smooth, free of the usual bumps and creases of its anonymous predecessors. It’s forward-looking enough that some even think if the van was an EV based solely on its looks.
Hyundai car lineup is limited in Pakistan as compared to local brands such as Toyota but their portfolio as a new entrant is going to look pretty strong after the addition of Staria. In their available portfolio, they are offering Tucson, Elantra and Sonata. The Staria is expected to launch around the price of PKR 9 Million in Pakistan.
