Saudia Arabia introduced electronic passport for Saudi citizens

A new electronic passport for Saudi citizens have been introduced on Thursday by Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif.

The passport with advanced security features and aesthetic design is one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, a step forward in the country’s digital transformation process.

The new e-passport contains an electronic chip to raise the level of security protection for the passport holder’s personal data and photos.

The identity of the Kingdom has been incorporated into every page of the ePassport by displaying drawings of all the important tourist attractions of the Kingdom.

The passport can be verified and automatically read by smart gates at international airports, and its pages are decorated with the Kingdom’s most famous historic and cultural landmarks.
